Sorry to the host but

Wow! If you don’t care, you don’t care. But regardless of what you think of the catalog, cracking jokes about Americans losing jobs is a poor way of having your opinion valued as a new member.
sorry baratone brewer. i really do care. we just disagree on whether or not the catalog is a good way to employ people into the future. i will try and be less of a smart ass. wont happen again.
yeah, your right, why support products that keep americans employed. I’m going to go buy a toyota now.

i do support the products our host sells aaand lots of toyotas are built here.

While yes they do build them here, but all the money they make doesn’t stay here it goes back to japan. Not to mention all of the research facilities and design offices are in japan as well. Building the cars is only a piece of the pie.

I didn’t know this myself…they actually have thousands of research & development jobs, manufacturing jobs and engineering jobs here. At a wedding I went to recently, I made a few friends that are currently employed in research labs in cali and mi.

I thought this was a pretty good story too

Anyways, I apologize to all of you for getting people riled and off-topic. I hope ya’ll don’t hate me for it. The good news is that while we’re all struggling to keep or find jobs we are learning to provide ourselves with beer.
you sit on the can during #1?
When was the last time you sat on the can and didn’t do #1?

Please PM me who you work for so I can avoid doing business with them.

If catalogs or other direct mailings didn’t generate revenue, no one would send them out. I knew someone that worked in the “payday loan” business. She said all she needed was 3 new loans and she would be making a profit after sending on 100 postcards. (shitty business practice, but real life example)

If anyone is interested in purchasing American made T-shirts, jeans, dress shirts… PM me. I have a list of places I order form. Quality products and the pricing is similar to off shore products.

Please PM me who you work for so I can avoid doing business with them.

actually, in this case, mailing the catalog to me generates a loss for the host.

they were happy to take me off the list, and i am happy to spend money through the online catalog or in their storefront.

Actually, not sending you a catalog can be an increase to the host. There are price points in the printing and mailing of catalogs. By dropping your mailing, you have increased the cost per unit for the remainder. Think outside the box.

d’oh

I wonder if those who are bemoaning the loss of American jobs due to someone declining the print catalog have EVER ordered anything off the internet? You’ve killed brick and mortar jobs right in your own town. The flip side is - going thru the storefront has also hurt the delivery guys and their jobs… when will it ever end?

Do you make starters? You’re killing jobs at White Labs and Wyeast. Homebrewer? Killing jobs at BMC.

The list goes on…

you win at the internets, Spock. may you live long & prosper at being better than everyone else. we all concede in your greatness.

HAHAHA, brick and mortor… changing their marketing is a DIRECT result of opening another physical location. After another capital investment, cash flow is tighter than ever, hence the end of flat rate $7.99 shipping. Ironically, the online purchases are supporting those brick and mortar locations for a handful of customers within a short drive of three physical store.
