I’m brewing a porter tomorrow according to brun water I need to add Epsom salt and calcium chloride. When do I add them before I mash or just after? First time adjusting the mash water.
I add before, while heating up.

Yep, what @uberculture said. I toss the salts into the HLT, then add the water. Some salts are easier to dissolve when the water is cold, such as gypsum. I add to both the mash water and sparge water, then heat.
