NEIPA vs Hazy IPA

Yeah, as I did my Citra pale ale yesterday, I was studying my primitive whirlpool counterflow chiller set up and thinking of ways I could improve it with what I have. A new set up is a ways off yet for me. I just have to figure a way to mount the whirlpool arm to the side of the kettle instead of in the center of the immersion chiller. I realize the immersion chiller is too small for my kettle, but the whirlpool arm spitting out through the center of it is impeding my flow. Still get a decent whirlpool, but no hop cone at the end so ALL of my sediment and 6 oz of hops got pumped out into my carboy. It works well enough, but I can do better with some fiddling I think. :thinking:

Have you heard of The hangover?. It’s an adjustable whirlpool arm that attaches to any kettle.
How are you pulling out your wort? If you whirlpool you’ll want to pull off the side of the kettle to limit picking up the ‘cone.’
