BIAB in a turkey fryer basket

My first BIAB and I may have messed up already. My Kettle is a turkey fryer pot. I thought it would be good to use the basket to put the bag and grains in. When I was stirring the grain in it overflowed into the other part of the pot because the water level was higher than the top of the basket. How bad will this little bit of grain be when I boil it? I don’t have anything else big enough to try to strain it into before I boil.

Would it be cool enough to run it through my bottling bucket. And strain it from there? 13 minutes left in the mash.

Yes. Pull your bag squeeze it out then dump the grains then line your bucket with the bag and pour the wort in to strain it then dump it back in your pot and carry on.

You don’t want to have much grain in the boil apparently it will make it taste like cooked cereal

Thank you so much. You are all a great resource for guys like me.

Thanks again!

BTW, it is Caribou Slobber. That is such a good beer!

If your pH is in check boiling grain isn’t a big deal. You don’t want it in there but tannin extraction is based on pH.
