BIAB....I was supposed to be easy

Well, even someone with a few all-grain batches can become a novice when trying something new. Rule #1 from now on with small batch BIAB: either make sure the strainer you place your bag of grains in after the mash is secure above the pot or do not move it. That way, there is less chance of it plunging back into the pot and splashing black lager wort all over yourself and the kitchen.

Yes, of course it was black wort.
And no, clean up wasn’t that bad. It only took about fifteen minutes. Not a lot of wort lost, just a large splash radius.
