Wyeast 1056 vs 1272

I’ve been using 1056 for some time and brewed an identical beer with 1272 to see if I could get highter flocculation. It indeed proved to flocculate better and was a little dryer, however the beer color changed dramatically ( it was much lighter in color).

Since these strains were similar I wasn’t expecting such a vast change. Has anybody done similar comparative brews with 1056 and 1272?

I have many times, but I’ve never seen a difference in color caused by the yeast.
