We stayed at Chimay’s Auberge a few weeks ago, and they had this on display next to our table we ate at. Anyone have any idea what it was used for? It was driving me nuts during dinner staring at it. I assume is brewing related. It looks like about 2" thread to the right of the wheels, then maybe 1 1/4" thread below the glass cylinders then 1/2" tube coming out the top.
Looks like maybe it could have been a filter setup or beer was sent to taps through it? Haha I dont have any clue.
It kind of looks like a hop filter to me.
What confuses me is the 3 outlets. If there was only one outlet at the top and one at the bottom, it would make sense as a filter of some sort. I would think the beer would come in the bottom, the largest outlet, but then the two next largest outlets are below the glass cylinders so if beer went out there, it wouldn’t pass through whatever the glass cylinders are for.
My guess: injection contraption for priming, one injector for sugar and one for yeast.
You couldn’t fit that inside your shirt?
the wheels aren’t tipping you guys off? it’s a 2 cylinder beer engine!
HAHA! That’s what I thought!
