Hello! I received a 5-gal recipe kit for a Kolsch. I’d like to modify the recipe as I’m not a big fan of Kolsch beers. I find them very mild - almost bland. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
Maybe acidify the pre-mash water with lemon juice… perhaps give the delicate kolsch a bit of some zing….? Oh, good to hear from you again!
You could certainly push the hops a bit and take it toward a pale ale, keeping an eye on BU:GU.
After drinking alot of IPAS, Kolsches , lager and pils, gives me a break.
