What are the best books for home brewing?

Hey - I’m a newbie - brewed my first batch a few days ago. I didn’t realize the importance temperature plays with the yeast, and I didn’t know there were all the different yeasts for different kinds of beer. I remember reading some post that said something to the effect that the first 3-4 days were the most important for yeast and the temperature, and then you should raise the temp a degree or so, etc.

So, with so much to learn - what books do you all recommend.

Thanks,
Dave

“How to brew” by John Palmer (www.howtobrew.com)

I also admittedly started with “Homebrewing for Dummies”

“Joy of Homebrewing” by Papazzian is also a good read, though somewhat dated I found.

Books are great but for practical knowledge on brewing this site is one of the best. That said, you won’t go wrong with “How to Brew”

Thanks very much - appreciate it!
