Water Volume/Top Off

I brew extract and have a question. I did a Dead Ringer and had a full 5 gallons in my primary. When I went to bottle I seem to have only gotten around 4 1/2 gallons. My question is if I add and extra 1/2 gallon of water to my primary will that effect the beer very much. I assume some of the loss is due to the trube in the bottom of the primary.

I think you’ll prefer 4.5 gallons of tasty home brew with good body to 5 gallons of watery beer with poor mouth feel. I’d leave it alone and adjust on your next batch prior to fermentation.
