US Goldings vs East Kent Goldings

I am curious how US Goldings compares to East Kent Goldings. I use EKG regularly in my english bitters and pales. What is your experience? thanks

They are not exactly the same, but similar enough to use whichever you can get easiest. I have them growing in my backyard (Vancouver, WA).

I’ve never used US Goldings that had that “Goldings” character I get from EKGs. If I couldn’t get EKGs, I’d go with a different english hop (First Gold, Whitbred Goldings, etc) before the US Goldings.

Appreciate the input. I’ll intend to stick with EKG for the beers with a hop forward flavor. It seems to be readily available.
