To Secondary Ferment or Not

I brewed my third batch on Friday. It is the Scottish Wee Heavy w/ specialty grains available through Northern Brewer. I have been reading a lot about how secondary fermentation is not really necessary if you are not adding anything, or do not need your primary. Do I need to secondary, and if not, do I just leave it for the amount of time suggested for the secondary (2 months after initial fermentation)?
Thanks, DC

What was the time for primary fermentation? Did they say 2 weeks primary then 2 months secondary? Pay more attention to the Primary than the Secondary.
Given the fact that It’s your third beer give it about 4-5 weeks in primary and then just bottle.
Or make sure the beer is finished then rack to secondary if you want.
Secondary is not another fermentation, It’s conditioning. You can do this in primary or the bottle itself.
Welcome to the Forum.

The suggested primary was for 1-2 weeks and then 2 months in secondary, then 2-4 weeks in the bottle.
