Finally getting tired of the plastic picnic taps after 2 years. Looking into upgrading to some Perlics. I see there is a couple different models. The regular and the creamer version. Not exactly sure which ones to get. How does the creamer version work. And can you pour a pint without getting the creamy head if you don’t want one. Does that make sense. What does everyone think. Here are the links to the ones I am looking at.
The perlicks work great. Skip the creamer feature if your brewing is solid you will have good foam on a beer. The creamer just operates in reverse on the handle. IE: you pull on the tap handle to get a pour and then its put to the normal “off” position, you then push back on the handle if you wish to get CO2/ creamy/ foam pour is all.
Perlics are great. I did have one of two leak at the shank. Ordered a new shank and it solved the problem. The ugrade and the small hassle of getting a new shank was well worth it,
I’ve got 3 of the 525SS to sell if you are interested. The do NOT leak. I upgraded to the look of the 425SS faucets. Shoot me a PM if you are interested.
If you spend $400 on a stainless Perlick setup for 4 taps, you are doing something really wrong. LOL
But, to each his own. Enjoy your cobra taps, my friend.
Yeah you’re right, more like $275-$300. But I’m impressed with the mounted plastic taps and spent the money on a mash tun, new kettle, and immersion cooler instead.
