It has been 5 weeks. I put 1 bottle with raw sugar and 1 with light brown sugar for carbonation. Somebody on this site said, that the LB sugar would be bitter. So, I tried that one first. Oh my god. Everything comes together, hint of hops, a hint of bitterness, with a slight hint of malt. Well balanced. The raw sugar beer had the slight hoppiness first with a slight malt favor. I might have to do a little more tasting to make sure. I do like the LB sugar a little better.
I do a New Castle brown ale and use brown sugar for that same reason. I’ve not tried the way you are employing it tho. Sneezles61
