Safety relief valves?

So I hate to admit I’m shopping for price on parts for my keggerator build but a friend sent me this website. It talks about needing a safety relief valve on the CO2 system?

I’ve been using my keg system in standard fridge with picnic taps and I haven’t blown myself up yet. So…am I missing something? So do I really need a safety relief valve on my air distibutor system? I did not see these safety relief valves on the NB distributors.

You should have a relief valve for your CO2 tank on the regulator. I’m guessing that this one is for when you get re-fermentation in the keg and the pressure builds up between the manifold and the keg.
