Recipe for Edmund Fitzgerald clone calls for London and I dont have any. I have SA-05, British 005, and European Ale, and Nottingham. Recommendations?
There is no “best choice” really…if you have a particular favorite ale yeast, use that.
From personal experience I can say that for the stronger porters SA-05 (or it’s liquid equivalents) is an excellent choice.
But in truth, any of the strains you listed would make for an excellent porter. Make two batches with different yeasts and compare. That’s the most effective way to arrive at “the best”.
