Removing gas side check valve sanke type tap

I have a plastic 1/6 barrel keg with sanke connection which I want to fill with a carbonated beer in ball lock keg. I also have an old sanke tap shown in photo which I inherited from another brewer. It has the liquid side check valve removed. Unfortunately, it still has a check valve on the gas side. How do I remove this? I want to remove it so when I transfer the beer I can do it under pressure with a spuding valve on the discharge. Removal also makes it easier when draining it for cleaning as now I have to use the relief valve on sanke tap to drain it upside down of course.

I read the pressure and temperature limitation on the plastic keg and will be extremely careful not to blow it up (45 psig max pressure). If anyone knows how to reset the sanke tap relief valve to a lower set point pressure let me know.

here is photo referenced above

I took a look at a Sanke I have and it looks like the valve is just stuck in there but I didn’t dare fiddle around with it. I made up conversions with nylon tubing and 1/4" mfl connections to hook my faucets and CO2 cornie keg setup to it long ago.

Take a look at this Replacement Rubber Check Valve for US Sankey Coupler For the $2 it might be a cheap backup if things go wrong. Could also call Kegworks and quiz them about it.

Good luck and let us know how it works out.
