I just racked my American Wheat beer to secondary after 11 days in primary. I took a reading with my refractometer. My OG was 1.041(10 brix %) and my current gravity is 1.020 or 5 brix %. How can i convert this to the current ABV?
Thanks,
Brent

Did you use a correction factor for the second reading? Once fermentation has begun, alcohol throws off refractometer readings and you have to correct for it.
I used this:

Great! So, the ABV is (OG-FG)x.132. So, 41-7=34, 34x.132 = 4.488 or about 4.5%.

That’s sounds right to me. I will take one more reading before I keg.
Thanks!
