Just noticed NB has a Pirate’s Plunder India Dark Ale extract kit for sale…for obvious reasons, i’m pretty intrigued! However, I’ve never had an IDA and I’m wondering what it’s like. Is it just an IPA with a dark malt??? Does it carry the same spice as a west coast IPA or is it tame like east coast IPA’s???
Looking at the ingredients, my gut tells me it tastes like most dark IPAs on the market. Roasty and very hoppy are my guess. The maris otter extract is pretty new. It’ll be pretty bold and overpowering. Probably not a subtle beer.
