Pickling day!

It’s a pretty unpleasant day here with 40 mph winds coming off the lake, so instead of tending a kettle I figured it was time to put up some produce from the garden. Got 5 pounds of kimchi going, plus 10 pounds of cabbage sliced up and salted, and tonight it’ll get squished down into the fermenting crock. Kimchi should be done in about 2 weeks, and the kraut in about 6 weeks.

I still have a ton of half-ripe cherry tomatoes in the garden, so I might throw some of those in brine as well.
