I just brewed a batch of Phat Tyre Amber Ale. This is the first time I have prepared a yeast starter and used an aerator, so I could not be more psyched! After bringing the water to a boil, I went ahead and added in both malt extracts. Although, I was not suppose to add the 6lbs munich malt syrup until 15 minutes before the end of the boil. Does anyone know how bad this will affect my beer?
You’ll just get a bit less hop utilization. The hops can only do so much when there is all the malt sugars getting in the way in a concentrated wort (I assume you’re not doing full-wort boils).
You probably won’t notice anything, don’t worry about it. But do try to follow the recipe next time.
