People say racking to secondary is not needed..but

I bought a dead ringer kit and it says to secondary but everywhere i read it says secondary is not needed and can introduce o2,infection and stale beer…Should i dry hop in primary after fermentation is complete?

I do this all the time.

Toss them in or bag them if you like.

I usually bag them and weigh them down so that they are fully submerged. Something with some weight and made of stainless steel is what I use. I have some pretty large SS ball bearing that work for me.

I typically let the fermentation go 3 weeks and then DH for another week right in the primary. After that, straight to the keg.

Good Luck

Right on…thanks

A bit too personal, no?

I dry hop in primary all the time with no ill effects.

+1 yep this^
secondary can be useful at times but 90%+ of the time its totally unnecessary. Sometimes I secondary only because I want to get the yeast from the batch to reuse.

The instructions are Standardized. So they want people to learn the right process and then you get to pick and choose which parts are necessary for you. For example, nobody would tell you the boil is an option. But there are always debates on whether to secondary or not, plastic or glass, etc… You get to decide what works for you. I like to secondary my beers. I do like the to secondary personally, but everyone has their way.
