Missouri people

Heading down to Missouri soon, stopping in Des Moines for a day or two and have some spots picked out for there. But not finding a lot in MO to go to.
ANyone know some awesome spots?

St Louis is loaded with great craft beer. Theres a nice brewpub in Jeff City, a few really good ones in Columbia, at least one in St Genevieve. The one in Hannibal isn’t going to be open and brewing for another couple of months but right across the river in Quincy theres a nice brewpub.

Just kinda depends on where you’re headed. Let me know and I can give you some names.

not quite sure on the route I will take. Heading to Lake of Ozark for a week and then have a week to do whatever.

If you’re coming from the north, you may go thru Columbia and Jefferson City. Like Tom said, there are several in that area. None in LOZ area. Rolla, MO (40 mins east of LOZ) has a great brewpub too. Columbia’s are Broadway Brewery and Flat Branch.

what about good stores to go to to stock up on some out of state stuff?
I know you have about the most relaxed liqour laws in the country, so I am assuming good beer is spread around quite a bit?

I’m a Kansas guy, but I live in the KC metro…so I feel qualified to contribute:

Rock & Run Brew Pub (Liberty, MO)
New brew pub. I’ve never been. It’s an hour drive for me on a good day. I know…shame on me. They are constantly posting photos of their dishes. Their food looks very good.

Cinder Block
Nanobrewery. Very cool venue. Good beer. Note the hours on their website.

Big Rip
Nanobrewery that seems in capable of brewing a standard beer. I’ve never been. They’re just a few minutes from Cinder Block. Note the hours on their website.

Kansas City Bier Company
Just opened a few months ago. Excellent beer.

Martin City Pizza & Tap
Just opened a few months ago. Good beer. Food is decent.

Boulevard (obviously)
Their free tour isn’t great. They’ve got a couple paid tours that are worth checking out, but you have to schedule in advance. They usually have a couple experimental beers on tap.

Also…

In Springfield:
Springfield Brewing Company

Mothers

Excellent beer. Also available commercially.

Possible route:
I-35 South…
Rock & Run in Liberty for lunch and beer
Cinder Block (recommended over Big Rip if time is limited)
Boulevard

Take I-35 South to 75th street (East), to Wornall Road:
Kansas City Bier Company
Bier Station - hipster taproom/bottleshop that a lot of locals like

Take Wornall to I-435 East to Holmes Road (south):
Martin City Pizza & Taps
Martin City Brewing Co
This seems backwards, but Pizza & Taps is the brewery. Brewing Co. is a pub with a decent selection of commercial beers. Food is better at the pub.

Go to Springfield an hit Mothers & SBC.

While you’re in the Ozarks, I hear really good things about this little operation:

Mothers’ in Springfield

Of course a six pack of Lagunitas while sitting in a park in any town is also good. 8)
