As you all know I’m VERY fond of WLP940 and feel it’s one of, if not, the best lager strain. With that said, I also often feel like experimenting with other strains.
Anyone have experience with Omega oyl-113 or Imperial ‘Que Bueno’?
I also have an infinity for dry yeast as they are so simple to use, require no starter, cheap enough to pitch another pack (equivalent to cost making a starter), store easier, etc. I’ve tried Cellar Science Baja yeast and wasn’t impressed. Even through several generations it just couldn’t live up to WLP940.
What are your thoughts?

Really? No experience out there with omega oyl-113 or Imperial Que Bueno?
Well the last Mexican lager I made was on 34/70 slurry. If i did another maybe MJ Bavarian lager yeast.

I would encourage you to try WLP940. It find it leaves the beer with a ‘creamy’ finish, ferments with no diacetyl, and drops brilliantly clear in a short time. I LOVE that yeast.
