Let's talk mixed fermentation

I made a series of barrel aged beers and was unimpressed. Only one was very good. The others so so. Some are ageing some have been blended into good beer. But non have been awesome enough to merrit the extra work and time. Before I turn the barrel into furniture Im thinking try to sour in it. Any suggestions? I figured I’d pick a strain and pitch it to the barrel. Then if it comes out good just rinse between beers and let it ride.

IIRC you already have dedicated sour equipment. If that’s the case I say go for it.

I do and I have dedicated kegs. One I have a Brett solara going. I’m going to get one going with sours. I have some sanke kegs I use for this stuff I never clean them just blow beer through them . I disabled the check valve and push more beer into them. Obviously they are all one offs.
