Late night yeast fever

Hello all- this morning I awoke to quite a fright. It seems as if when I slept, my yeast were in a fever pitch… upon close inspection, it appeared my 1 1/2" - 2" head of magnificent krausen rose to fill and subsequently flow out of the airlock. It has since subsided and returned to a “normal” level. Although it left some krausen outside the airlock and bung. It still has a healthy flow of gas through the airlock and cleaning this carboy will be no fun but worth it if the batch is ok. It may be useful to note this is the NB Bavarian Hefe kit with Danstar yeast. Thanks for looking and any/ all feedback. Happy Saturday.

Nothing to be frightened of…thats one healthy fermentation. Think of it as yeast giving notice to keep an eye on us and maybe a clean airlock handy. Tank

You are very fortunate it did not clog and blow the lid and airlock off. Some of us have mopped down the ceiling and walls on a few occasions.

Look into blow off hoses for primary fermentation.

Thanks for the advice/ warnings. Got a secondary airlock on standby and keeping a diligent eye for any excessive yeast action.
