Lager in a Bucket

January 24th was the date on the yeast, which isn’t too bad.

Had my brew day today, everything went pretty good I think. I poured off the spent wort from the starter this morning, then did a 300ML mini starter with the yeast that was left to wake it up and have it active. Had a mini kreusen so I think it worked out OK. It’s in the little fridge now with the temp at about 56 and I’m slowly dialing it down to about 50 for the rest of the primary.

One thing I did notice that annoyed me. I steeped the specialty grains and it looked real good, nice and pail. Then I did the saaz additions and this thing turned dookie green. I’m assuming the lager will clean it all up because that’s what lagering does. Just has me wondering how clean it’ll turn out.
