Irish Red Ale shelf life?

My wife was nice enough to buy me the Irish Red Ale 5gal recipe kit, but no 5 gal equipment. Im saving up to buy all the things I need. How long will the supplies last? I saw in the FAQs that the dry yeast is about 3 months. What about hops, malt syrup etc?

Put the hops in the freezer and they will keep for a year or more. The malt extract and yeast depend on how fresh they were when packaged. I imagine from NB they’re both very fresh and should be fine a few months. Specialty grains stale pretty fast if they are milled. I’d want to use those within a couple weeks, but they may be OK a little longer.

Why don’t you brew a bunch of small batches and keep repitching the yeast? :smiley:
