Increase ABV of Citral Pale Ale

Below I have listed a recipe I really enjoy that comes out at about 5% I was wondering what steps I could take to boost this up higher as I am still fairly new to brewing and havnt experimented with changing recipes yet. Any advice would be great, thanks!

  1. Steep Grains
  2. Remove Grain Bag: Discard, and bring the wort to a boil.
  3. Add both the 6 lb jug of Gold LME and 1 lb Gold DME .
  4. The Boil: As soon as you see a boiling bubble, set your timer for 60 minutes, and add 0.5 oz Centennial bittering hops.
  5. Hop Addition: Boil for 40 minutes and add 1 oz Cascade favor hops.
  6. Hop Addition: Boil for 10 minutes and add 1 oz Cascade aroma hops.
  7. Hop addition: Boil for 10 minutes and add 2 oz Citra aroma hops.
  • Dry hop with 1 oz Citra and 1 oz Cascade *

You could add table sugar near the end of the boil. That would increase your ABV but would also dry the beer out a bit. Adding more extract would also raise the gravity and the resulting ABV but this would affect the balance of the beer and it wouldn’t taste the same without adding more hops to balance it out.

Looks like a nice session PA why do you want to raise the abv?

Looks nice i would stay with the 5% if you want more abv. Ad some. Dme. But like what danny said add some hops as well. Than. I would do some flame out hops

Use less water and target 4 3/4 or less instead of 5 gallons
