I’m pitching a RIS on a smaller beer yeastcake for the first time. When I clear the old beer out of the fermenter, and then pour the new RIS wort on the yeastcake, am I supposed to stir up the yeast cake so it gets in suspension and starts working?
Yes. When I do this I use a Mix-Stir to get the yeast into suspension and aerate at the same time. Cheers, and Happy Brewing!!!
I sanitize a new fermenter which gets the new beer and use a santized beer mug to scoop the slurry out of the old bucket and into the new one.
