How long to lager a Czech Pilsner extract?

I’ve been brewing ales for years but I love the pilsners. Help!?!

There are very savvy Lager-peeps here… what I’ve learned from them… very cool and slow…
In a hurry, brew an Ale… (

I would plan on at least 6 weeks. 8-10 is better. AND- pitch plenty of yeast AND do a d-rest. There’s no cheaper insurance.

I’ve got family coming in October, is there too long a time to lager?

It’ll be fine… think of an Oktoberfest brew, which is a Marzen style… brewed in March and lagered until the big festival… about the end of September… you’ll need to sample a bottle once in a while…

Had to bring back…
Do you suppose buying extract made from continental Pils LME would replicate that unique flavor? Seems as I can not recreate the flavor… infact, very few brews that call themselves one, don’t come close either….

Czech/Noble hops, continental pilsener malt ( or LME), clean fermenting lager yeast, and a very minimal water profile will get you there.

One of the few beers that I pick up RO water from the grocery store for. Hmmmm, now where are those water jugs??
