Grain storage?

Do you need a food grade to store grain? Does air space make a difference? I want to get 25# base malt.

I have a 12.5 gallon bucket with a screw on lid… holds a whole sack, 50-55 lbs…
I believe you want to keep dust and such out… keep the grain dry… and keep vermin from getting into it too… And keep it cool…

I do use. Storage boxes. And got 2 50 lbs. Pet faults. From amazon stays real fresh. (These petfaults. Shipping to the island. Did cost me a arm and a leg) but mayby for you at wallmarth bit cheaper

For small amounts buckets work fine. The standard hardware store ones are good but brew buckets are bigger and should be fine for 25#

By the way any plastic bin you use keep the grain in the original bag or portion into 1gal freezer bags and press out the extra air. Dont just dump it in the bin!
