Is there a good all around spacing for a grain mill? I,m going to do a batch sparge and was tinking around .0045
You could go down as far as 0.030 with batch sparging. My mill is set at 0.030 and I have not had any trouble with stuck sparges, even with high percentages of wheat. I condition my grain (spray with just enough water to moisten the husk a little) before milling.
You can start at 0.045 and work your way down over a few batches if you want, and see how it affects your efficiency.
Look at the crush , not the feeler gauge.
