My hop plants are about 6 inches tall and it going to drop down in the 20 s the next few nights. Do I need to cover them to protect them? They where planted last spring.

Hops are pretty tough. The plants I had never really needed any attention. It would be cheap insurance to cover them though.

At only 6" it wouldn’t take long to resprout if you lost them. It won’t kill the ryzomes. Mine sprout early and get hit by frost they still grow
Never had problems here in New York with mine freezing. They’ve even been buried in snow at times.
