Force Carbonating Question

I’ve seen a few videos of people who say they switch out the quick disconnects and use the rock and roll method to carbonate through the liquid side so the CO2 bubbles up through the beer.

Anyone ever tried this? Any Comments?

Only takes a couple days if you pressurize it in the 20s, just don’t forget about it like I did. You don’t need to get any more complex with it.

Do you carbonate through the liquid dip tube or the small gas dip tube?

The in side.

I force carb through the liquid-out beer line. (I have pin-lock kegs)

if you’re shaking the keg horizontally, in my opinion it doesn’t really matter b/c the beer will bump up against both connects internally (it’s not a bad idea to submerge/lean the beer for a few secs in the gas during shaking). i get the keg cold, connect, crank to 30-40psi and shake for a minute, then turn the gas off. i do this every 3-4 hours, maybe 3 times. ready to drink after this.

I’ve written a good amount about rapid force carbonation here http://thebeerjournals.com/carbonation.html

The only update is that I don’t ever disconnect the lines during the process.
