How many times do you guys reuse fliptop (Grolsch) bottles before swapping out the gaskets? I’ve used them 3 or 4 times now. There indented pretty good, but not cracked. Just wondering if i should replace them or not worry about it. Thanks!
Good question…I would think that as long as the gaskets are still pliable and not cracked, you could extend them several more times. I seems that sanitation would be key as the gaskets get older.
Depends. I use them indefinitly for bottles that I pour off the keg and take to parties and such for fairly short time use. If you want them to maintain a seal I guess that is a risk you will have to calculate. Do you want that IPA or imperial stout that you worked so hard on to go flat while you wait to put a little age on it? It seems the cost of new gaskets for your beer stock is a small investment to insure you beer will be fizzy when you break it out to impress the potential new Father-in-law.
