Fermenting orange juice?

anyone ever tried it?
ive heard of just about everything else under the sun being fermented and passed around but never heard of fermented OJ.

why not?

is it worth a try?

I’ve never tried it, but I’m guessing it’s a no.

Y’know how OJ tastes terrible right after you’ve brushed your teeth? That’s because toothpaste temporarily disables your ability to taste sweetness. So it seems like OJ after toothpaste is probably a decent (if minty) simulation of what OJ would taste like after all the sugar’s been fermented out of it.

(Now a clemifornia commontine, on the other hand. . .)

They can be tricky to do, but Orange wine is fairly common.

I knew a guy many years ago that used to make quite a bit of orange melomel. it wasn’t bad.

Isnt this the stuff that they make in jail/prison?

Your thinking of pruno, which can be fermented out of just about anything and many times carried out with wild yeast.
Orange wine has other additives than simply orange juice and uses a selected strain of yeast. It can be quite good if done correctly.
