Duotight push fittings

anyone use these? Thinking of switching over. Basically a PEX like system

For what part of your system are you considering? I use some on my glycol system, but am too chicken to use them on my draft system. If I have a slow leak on my glycol I’ll notice a LOT sooner than I would in a kegerator. The only way I will know then is when I go to get a pint, have nothing come out, and realize I have 5gal of beer in the bottom. I’ll then need to shop vac it out. Wondering how I know this? :joy:

Gas side
Start at the regulator then to this board then the kegs. Leaving the tap lines for now
The only duotight I have now is a spunding valve

That would even be worst anxiety for me! Sadly not a lot of reviews on there either. One says it leaks, one said it doesn’t, one doesn’t indicate how long it’s been in service.
With that said, I have numerous dual gauge regulators and very rarely find my self adjusting them to much of a difference… usually they stay around 11-12psi. You may be different.

Well over at another forum the response has been nothing but positive. Maybe you got a bad fitting.
I used to be nervous about PEX also

I guess at the end of the day it’s no different than a clamp system. You could still check them with spraying starsan on the fittings.

What I have works and doesn’t leak.

well that header board is expensive so need to wait for a sale anyway. in the mean time the next time I have an order I’ll get a few fittings and line and start one with the line out of the regulator. I’ve been planning to redo my lines anyway. My system is a snake pit now

My system for 4 kegs is too. I just always dealt with it as it’s a ā€˜cost of doing business.’ Though I would love to be able to have a kegerator without the tangled up spider web of beer line and CO2. After you get it let us know how you like it. Nothing better than a review from someone you actually know that BOUGHT it.
That’s one thing this hobby suffers from. So many video reviews from people that RECEIVED the product for FREE.

When we bought our house I found one bath had been plumbed with PEX. Unfortunately hot and cold were swapped. Toilet tank filled with hot water :frowning: I just got some fittings and a short piece of the pipe, cut the PEX below and swapped it to make it right. That was a long time ago and so far all is well.

Yeah PEX is pretty standard and proven
The Duo Tight fittings are the same technology. I’m going to make the switch. Just waiting for a sale. The parts add up quickly. I can wait. Maybe father’s day there will be sales. Wonder why brew supplies places don’t have mother’s day sales? My wife would love something like that. It would keep me out of her hair for a few hrs

I wish the upstairs one was plumbed hot… in the summer, it sweats so much…
Perhaps my wife would like a warm seat in the winter? Bet I can add that to my ā€œto doā€ list.

reminds me of a funny story. we were building some condos during the winter and it was learned that in one of the units a plumber mistakenly plumbed one hot. all us freezing carpenters would sneak in there for our morning ritual. we kept it secret as long as we could

@sneezles61 too, this is what I was thinking. A pre warmed seat without someone’s a$$. That’s a WIN! :joy:
