Yesterday I made a clone beer me and my local brew shop put together. Everything went good and I decided to rehydrate my yeast. I boiled some water poured about a cup into a glass cup covered it and set it aside. When it reached about 82 ish degrees I poured the sanitized yeast packet into the water and let it set for about 10 min or so. I then took another sanitized glass and put a little of the watery yeast into it so I could swirl it around to get all the residual yeast stuck to the sides after that I pitched my yeast. It has been well over 12 hours and nothing. I took a peek at my wort no bubbles no nothing. Does anyone have any advise for me?
Be patient. It could be a day or 2 before it really takes off. What temperature is it at?
right now it is 61-63 so i did put it upstairs where it is 68-70
I’d leave it in the 61-63 area. The fermentation temp of the beer will be a few deg. higher than the room temp and that is a perfect temp for fermentation. If you have it higher it will start and finish quicker, but you will get undesirable flavors from it. I wouldn’t expect much in the first 24 hours, should be bubbling steadily by the end of 48.
What yeast did you use? Some start quicker than others, especially depending on the temperature.

This is seriously the best advice.
