Decanting starters with lower floccing yeast

I have a starter of WLP300 and this being a Heffewiezen yeast its a low floccer. I have put this in the fridge for 2 days but there still appears to be a quite a bit of yeast in suspension. I’m concerned that decanting off the top liquid will drain away too much of the yeast and cause me to underpitch. Is this a valid concern or should I just RDWHAHB?

Although it is probably is worrying too much, I understand where you are coming from. Why make a starter only to decant a quarter (prob not that much) of it. Give it time. It will settle. Or pitch the entire starter.
