Today I have made a 5 gallon BOMM mead. I used this recipe :
Add 1 gallon OB honey to 3.5 gallons water. (SG 1.09-1.1)
4. Use a drill powered mixer to mix honey completely. You can do it by hand, but it’s very tiring!
5. Add 3/4 TBSP K2CO3. One time addition.
6. Add 1 TBSP DAP + 2 TBSP Fermaid K at must creation, 1/3 & 2/3 sugar break (this is 1.066 & 1.033).
7. Stir again to aerate.
8. Add your 2 liter starter of Wyeast 1388.
after making the mead I bumped into a similar recipe using teaspoon instead of TBSP for the above additions …which one is the best for 5 gallons?
