Blichmann Hellfire

Hey I have a very old burner that I use for my boil. I am considering getting the Blichmann Hellfire but I am concerned about my deck. I do not know what burner I have now but it does not seem to bother my deck as the burner is raised about 12 inches. The hellfire does not have leg extensions available. I am wondering if anyone uses one of these on a wooden deck and what kind of heat comes off of it? Also does anyone have any ideas of what I could use under the burner? I have been looking at all of the heat pads but some of the negative reviews say they do not protect against the heat. Thanks in advance.
