I feel like this is a really dumb question, but I could use some help. I purchased two faucet shank kits from Amazon and the description calls out a 3/16" ID beer line connection.
However, when I measure across the barbed nipple, I measure 3/8". Logic tells me that I need to be ordering 3/8" ID beer line, but the reference on Amazon has me questioning myself. Maybe beer line is measured on the radius rather than diameter? Do I need 3/16" line or 3/8"? Help!
You want 3/16" beer line. Barbed fittings are measured by the inside diameter (ID), so it sounds like you have 1/4" barbs. The tubing will be hard to get on the barb but it will fit. It helps to soak the tubing in some boiling water for a minute or two and then push onto the barb. I never worry about clamps for these types of connections, but that’s up to you.
Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to reply.
Happy I could be of some help. I hope it worked out for you.
