Bavarian Hefeweizen Aging

Im looking to brew a batch of Bavarian Hefeweizen for when my father returns from Afghanistan in 6 months. I am trying to determine weather or not i should start the brewing process now or wait. I know some beer gets better with age and others are best when fresh.

B H is best fresh, I’d brew it about 6 weeks before he gets back.
Or you could brew him a batch every month between now and then and let him pick which one he likes best. In my opinion you can’t do too much for a serviceman or woman.
