I have been looking at some fittings and I have been seeing the two options mentioned above. Is there any reason why 304SS is inadequate? On a single piece the price increase isn’t too bad but when you add a bunch more parts, it adds up.
304 is just as stainless as 316. 316 is more smooth and shiny. That’s probably the main difference. 304 is fine.
316 is slightly more corrosion resistant, particularly to phosphoric acid.
Either will work.
Sankes are 304L, which is low carbon.
