So in the morning I’m brewing an American Amber Ale extract kit, but the kit is about a year old so I replaced the yeast and hops. Anyway the guy sent me a pound of the crystal malt steeping grain, same stuff the kit came with originally. Was he right in doing this? Did my year old grain “go bad” somehow event though they’re in a sealed bag? And if not then what would be the effect of steeping both pounds of grain together?
