I brewed the ‘Big Honkin Stout’ kit a couple months ago. It was my first darker brew, and I’m a big fan of it. It has a nice big flavor, but not what I would call overpowering. It is smoother than a Guiness IMO. It has some subtle coffee and chocolate flavors to it. Also, don’t really notice the higher alcohol level until I’ve got a couple in me…
I would recommend that as a great stout kit, even to those who think they don’t like stouts that much.
