Project "Camel" - Old Ale - Grain bill

Thats one heck of a long boil! I have yet to do an oldie, will happen in July. I’ve been too busy and don’t see june letting up too much for now… Sneezles61

Not if you take a nap in the middle of it! I’ve been playing around with historic brewing styles and techniques, and the long boil certainly introduces some changes to the wort that you don’t get otherwise.

I agree about the change in flavor, due to mallard reaction, but other flavors can come from boiling other volitable compounds/oils from the grist too? Curious… Sneezles61

Whatever happened with this? Wifey is going away for labor day weekend, and I kind of want to get some big beers started. Maybe a this and a barleywine?
