NB Chinook IPA kit

Well i finally cracked one open. My house is roughly mid 60’s so I think another week or so and they should be carbed proper.
Even with minimal carbonation, this was a very easy drinking ale. The only alteration to NB’s recipe was waiting till 15 minutes left of the boil to add around half the extract, trying to keep the color lighter. Perhaps this boosted hop utilization a bit…this is a very hop forward ale.

I think i would consider this more of a heavily hopped pale ale than a hop monster west coast ipa…but then again drinking many of the west coast style ales possibly has shifted my perception.
