Are Bentonite finings and Claro K.C. interchangable when clearing wine?
No, KC is a 2 part fining. First the negatively charged kieselsol (“K”) pulls out the positive particles, then the positively chitosan (“C”) takes care of the negative particles.
Bentonite has only the negative charge, like kieselsol.
